Patch Notes v0.02
Version 0.02 is a small and largely visual update. Models for several buildings have been added, replacing placeholder art, such as the water pump, housing, oil platform, and factory. Sand tiles have also been added, including sand with oil - a new resource. Several other new resources have been added to the game and can be seen in the newly redesigned resource UI. However, most of these new resources have not been implemented beyond the additional UI elements.
Moving forward the goal is to continue to create a single fully playable "playground" level. This will include some reworking of the map generation to provide a better-balanced map. Most notably the new sand tile needs to be added and the starting conditions need to be viable - right now it is possible to generate a map without the needed starting resources. Building costs as well as unit stats need to be set and balanced. Core to this is the building out of the enemy spawn progression. Currently, spawns are static in size, number, and timing.
The "playground" level will not include a world map, leaders, or tech tree in the near future. Those mechanics have been prototyped and will be implemented once more of the core game loop is established and balanced.
I'm also trying on a name for the game. I think it'll stick. 🙂
